Profhilo and Definisse are injectable hyaluronic Acid treatments that work by hydrating the skin and encouraging the production of collagen and elastin. They are versatile and can be used to treat the mid and lower face, as well as other body areas, including the neck, décolletage and hands. Using Definisse, We can also treat the more delicate areas around the eyes, lips and forehead.  

Both Profhilo and Definisse skin boosters provide intense hydration, making the skin glow and minimising the appearance of fine lines. You will notice smoother, tighter skin and rejuvenated skin. 

Skin boosters and Profhilo differ from dermal fillers in that they provide deep hydration and promote a firming effect within the skin via collagen stimulation. This results in a more youthful yet completely natural-looking effect on the skin without changing the shape and contours of the face in a way that a dermal filler treatment would do. As such, Profhilo and Skin boosters are loved by those seeking a naturally more refreshed effect.

A course of Profhilo consists of two sessions, given 4 weeks apart. 

Your skin will be cleaned and numbed, and The profhilo will then be injected into specific points on the face. Once injected, the product will gradually disperse around a 2cm area to provide even coverage. 

Due to its superior consistency, Definisse skin booster can also be injected into the more delicate areas on the face, such as the under-eye and lip area. After cleansing and numbing, we will inject the product into the required areas. We advise a course of 3 treatments given three weeks apart, yet this can be adapted to suit the unique needs of the client.

This may vary from client to client; with Profhilo, although some clients report seeing an immediate enhanced glow to their skin, overall results generally start to become noticeable in a few weeks, becoming more apparent after the second session. 

Typically, the effects of these treatments last six months. Regular treatments can provide more noticeable and long-lasting results. Our nurse will advise you on how to fit your Profhilo and Definisse skin booster sessions into your treatment plan. 

To achieve and maintain the best results, regular maintenance treatments will be advised every six months.

To further enhance collagen production and improve skin quality, it is recommended to combine a course of skin boosters alongside regular microneedling facials between treatments.

Risks are usually minimal and may include temporary redness, possibility of bruising or mild discomfort at the injection site. As these treatments use naturally derived substances, the risk of allergic reactions is significantly reduced. Immediately after your treatment, your skin may be warm, pink, and slightly sensitive in the treatment areas. You may notice a slight tingling in the areas where you have been injected. In the short term, you may experience bruising, redness or swelling at the injection sites. 

Following Profhilo and Definisse treatments, It is not unusual to see and feel little lumps at the point of injection after your treatment. This is nothing to be alarmed about and is simply the product before it has fully integrated into the skin. These raised lumps will gradually subside over the course of the next 24 to 48 hours; however, they can remain visible for several days, particularly in areas where the skin is thinner, such as the forehead, neck and décolletage. We always advise, therefore, to leave enough time between injectable procedures and special occasions. You will be provided with full aftercare advice by your practitioner and what to do if you have any concerns.
